Condolence: I was so saddened to learn of the passing of David Johnson. David was one of the nicest and most generous people I have ever known. He will be missed by so many friends and colleagues who loved and admired him.
Condolence: David was just an all around good guy. During my days at the Culp Center he often commiserated with me about the "ways of the world" and his keen sense of humor always made things a little bit brighter. If there is a game room in Heaven, David is happily passing out tokens or giving billiard lessons. May David rest in peace.
Condolence: So sorry to hear of David's passing. He was a wonderful, giving person. I was a student worker of his long ago, in the 1900s, in the game room. He taught all of his student workers a lot and some of us became real "pool (billiards) sharks" under his guidance. God's blessings and peace to his family!
Condolence: Our world grows a little darker with David gone. A friend for many years I never left his presence without a grin and a chuckle. His wit was only eclipsed by his kind manner and his eagerness to see that everyone was well taken care of and went forward into a better day. A man of principle, conviction, intelligence, dedication and a true love of people. I'm glad we had the opportunity to be friends. He made us all better. RIP my friend. I'll miss you but I'll see you on the other side.
Condolence: While words fail to capture the pain of losing a loved one, we look forward to the time when words will fail to capture the joy of having our heavenly Father return your dear one to you. May you find comfort in knowing that your dear one is safe in the memory of God, who will remember every detail about him and bring him back again. (John 5:28, 29)
Condolence: I just heard about David’s passing and am so saddened. He has been our backdoor neighbor since we were in the second grade. He walked to school with me the first morning after his parents moved to Erwin and most mornings after that. Good memories we shared. My daughter still lives in my home place so we are still neighbors. I would love to hear from Scott or Jill if either of you read this. 828-429-4899 or email or Facebook. David will be missed.
Condolence: Last week, David was standing at the ETSU ID Office Window and we shared a laugh and a hug. He looked good and was in a good mood. Glad we shared that visit. He was a dear, sweet person - witty, intelligent and loyal to his many friends who will deeply miss him.
