Jim Wilcox, age 67, Unicoi, went to be with our heavenly father on Friday, August 17, 2018 while he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mitchell County, NC and was a son of the late Reverend Handy and Fairine Forbes Wilcox. Jim moved to Unicoi County when he was two years old.

He retired from CSX in 1995 where he was employed as a Conductor with over twenty-five years of service. Jim was a member of University Parkway Baptist Church.

Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone. He was an avid outdoorsmen, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.

Jim received a football scholarship to The University of Tennessee at Martin, where he attended and played. He continued his love for sports by playing in several golf and softball tournaments. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Bruce, Alfred, Sam and Ralph Wilcox; four sisters: Janie Whitson, Bonnie Bowman, Hattie McCurry and Selia Wilcox.
