Doris Ann Tipton

Doris Ann Tipton, age 65, of Erwin, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at her residence while she was surrounded by her family. She is a daughter of the late Wayne and Shirley Silvers Tipton. Doris was a lifelong resident of Erwin.

She was a homemaker. Doris was of the Christian Faith. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, making crafts, decorating, and baking. Doris loved her family dearly and took great joy in spoiling her grandbabies. Her family always depended upon her to give them the advice they may need in life.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Martinez.

Doris leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted companion, J. Angel Lara, of the home; two children: Jessica Golackey (Brandon), of Bristol and Joshua Tipton (Jenna Paige) of Erwin; two grandchildren: Zoey Golackey and Riley Golackey; seven brothers: Jerry Tipton (Debbie), Darrell Tipton, Ricky Tipton (Judy), Ed Tipton, Willard Tipton (Donna Sue), Bobby Tipton and Larry “Dino” Tipton (Kim); five sisters: Wanda Farley (Jimmy), Margaret Church, Mary Jane Tipton, Melissa Rutherford (Bobby) and Monica Tipton; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The Tipton family will receive friends on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Ralph Hensley will officiate the 7:00 p.m. funeral service. Committal will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Silvers Family Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
