Leona Wiseman Obituary

Leona Patsy Harrell Wiseman, age 82, of Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2023, at the Center on Aging and Health. She was a native of Bakersville, North Carolina and daughter of the late Fred and Edith Forbes Harrell. Leona lived most of her life in Johnson City.

She worked in the hotel industry as an Operator for many years. Leona was a member of Milligan Freewill Baptist Church. She loved going to church, mowing her yard, gardening, and tending to her flowers. Leona took great pleasure in taking care of her daughter and home.

In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Wiseman on November 26, 1994; one brother, Boyd Harrell; three sisters: Luzine Mercer, Shirley Peterson, and Doris Hopson.

Leona leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Isabella Wiseman, of the home; six siblings: Ann Griffith, Elouise Woods (John), JM Harrell (Judy), Roger Harrell (Linda), Arthelia Reed, and Freddie Harrell (Marlene); numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (historic site). Reverend Mark Street will officiate. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 p.m. on Friday.
