Robert Benny Edwards

Robert Benny Edwards, age 81, of Flag Pond, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at his residence while he was surrounded by his family. He was born on February 14, 1943, to the late Brance Edwards and Hazel Higgins Edwards.

Robert was a United States Army Veteran who served his country honorably. He was awarded a Marksman (Rifle M-1) badge during his military service. Robert was a craftsman and he enjoyed making birdhouses for many years.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one son and two brothers.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-three years, Lillian Bailey Edwards; two sons, two daughters, one brother, several grandkids and two special great granddaughters, Sophia, and Piper; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Robert’s graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024, in the Evergreen Cemetery with Reverend Craig Shelton officiating. Military honors will be rendered by DAV Chapter 39 Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Ballard Bailey, Anthony Williams, Breana Sams, Samuel Cutshall, John Bailey, and Shannon Ledford. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 p.m. on Monday.
