Linda Lou Hudson Blevins, age 73, Unicoi, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at The Waters of Johnson City. She was a native of Kingsport and moved to Unicoi in 1978. Mrs. Blevins was a daughter of the late Kelly and Mary Elsie Carter Hudson. She had worked at Tennessee Plastics Inc. prior to her marriage.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. Blevins in 2003; two brothers: Allen and Larry Hudson.
Linda loved sports and played softball on neighborhood teams in Kingsport as well as on her Hiwassee College team. She enjoyed traveling, meeting people, sharing stories, and loved to research her family roots. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a devoted friend.
She was a member of the Watauga Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Johnson City. Linda held many church callings including Relief Society President, Activities Committee Chairman, Cub Scout Leader, Librarian, Primary President, and Family History Center Assistant Director.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one son, Herman Kelly Blevins and wife, Shannon, Erwin; one brother, Harold "Smiley" Hudson, Kingsport; two sisters: Ann Ellis, Doris LaForce and husband, Pete, all of KIngsport; three nieces: Selena Straley, Lisa Boyd and Leslie Depew; two nephews: Michael Ellis and Jason Hudson; two step-children: Ivory Blevins and Pamela Barker; six step-grandchildren: Carson Rutherford, Cooper Rutherford, Heather Blevins-Lingerfelt, Charles Blevins, Tracy Hoilman and Abbigail Blevins; several cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Terry Henderson will be conducting the graveside service which will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 2:50 P.M. Wednesday.
