Obituary for Bud Brummett

Bud  Brummett
Larry “Bud” Brummett, age 58, Unicoi, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his residence while he was surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi and a son of the late Thomas Wayne Brummett and Edna Shelton Brummett.

Bud was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. He worked at Indian Creek Nursery for thirty-one years. Bud was currently employed by the Town of Erwin where he did maintenance for Erwin Town Hall. He loved to work and enjoyed both of his jobs tremendously. Bud took excellent care of all his flowers.

He loved to watch his grandchildren play softball and never missed a game. Bud liked to fish, play golf and hanging out in his garage with family and friends.

Bud leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of forty years, Sharon Brummett; one son, Shane Hummer (Regina); three grandchildren: Zach Hummer, Emma Hummer and Joseph Silvers; one brother, Tracy Brummett (Tammy); two sisters: Sharon Cochran (Robert), Shelley Bailey (Frank), all of Unicoi; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 28, 2018 in the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor David Brown will officiate at the 8:00 P.M. funeral service. Pallbearers will be Shane Hummer, Richard Hummer, Zach Hummer, Roman Hummer, Tracy Brummett and Joseph Silvers. Committal will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 A.M. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
