Obituary for Gregg Daniel Garris

Gregory Daniel “Gregg” Garris, age 40, Erwin, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and is the son of Sharon Kay Ayers Garris and the late Daniel Ray Garris.

Gregg attended Sweetwater Church of God.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roscoe and Vera Garris; his maternal grandparents, Doug and Ruth Ayers.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Sharon Kay Ayers Garris; his wife, Jocelyn Deel Garris; stepdad Willard Hensley; one sister, Angela Jones; four aunts: Lynn Tipton, Pam McDavid and husband, Rick, Cathy Cowans and Ruth Johnson; two nephews: Kaidan Jones and Devon Jones.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Craig Shelton and Reverend Danny Hughes will officiate at the 2:00 P.M. funeral service. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
