Jerry Douglas English

Jerry Douglas English, age 72, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Erwin and son of the late Joe English and Anga Lee Lloyd English.

Jerry was a Sawmill Operator for many years before he retired. He was of the Christian Faith.

Jerry loved to ride motorcycles. He enjoyed telling everyone about his grandchildren. Jerry was a great poet and wrote many poems over the years. He was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Jerry was a very talented woodworker, he carved beautiful knives and arrowheads. He enjoyed collecting knives and guns.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Benny English.

Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Amy Whitson and husband, Michael, of Satellite Beach, Florida; three grandchildren: Hannah Honeycutt, Bodie Whitson and Marlee Whitson; one brother, Tommy English and wife, Miriam; one niece and two nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
