Obituary for Gary Lee Cochran

Gary Lee  Cochran
Gary Lee Cochran, age 65, of Unicoi passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Frank W. and Volena Hurt Cochran. Mr. Cochran was a former employee of Siemens. He was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank James Cochran.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, one sister, Sue Havola Bruns and husband, Bob of Johnson City; four brothers, Fred Cochran and wife, Alma, Robert Cochran and wife, Sharon, and Rocky Cochran, all of Unicoi, Steven Cochran of Erwin; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a special friend, Suzanne Swinehart.
Gary had a good heart, a good sense of humor and no matter how sick he was he could always tell a joke. He loved to help people and enjoyed visiting with friends. Gary loved his dog, Gypsy.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 6:00 pm until the hour of service at the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dallas Gregg and Rev. E. L. Wheeler will officiate at the 8:00 pm funeral service. Music will be provided by Holly Wiseman, Stanley and Roma Dean Hill. Pallbearers will be Nathan Cochran, Bob Bruns, Tracy McLaughlin, Mike Collins, Doug Hyder and Bobby Harrell. Committal service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Buchanan Cemetery, Limestone Cove. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble at the Unicoi Funeral Home by 10:30 am Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family would like to express their love and gratitude to the nurses and staff in 4200 at the Johnson City Medical Center for their excellent care.
